Feb 20
It’s that time again, where Jason Reitman curates the LACMA Live Read event, and he gets some of his friends to come and read a classic script. And this time, it sounds awesome.
He has enlisted an all-female cast to read the testosterone-laced, David Mamet script “Glengarry Glen Ross.” Robin Wright will play Ricky Roma, originally portrayed by Al Pacino, Catherine O’Hara will play the desperate Shelley Levine, originated by Jack Lemon, while Maria Bello, Allison Janney and Mae Whitman will round out the cast. It hasn’t been announced who will step in for Alec Baldwin for this memorable monologue yet, so that’ll be a nice surprise.
This all takes place tomorrow night, Thursday, Feb. 21st and we will be in the courtyard selling posters, made once again by the incredibly talented Matt Owen - giving it the female touch. As always, the event is sold out, but there is a standby line where lots of people do get to come in, so I would suggest just showing up. It usually works.
The prints are in an edition of 100 and only $30. Whatever is left over the next day, will end up on our website. See you there - Always Be Closing.
You can read more about it at Entertainment Weekly here - http://insidemovies.ew.com/2013/02/14/all-female-jason-reitman-glengarry-glen-ross/
